Quick update
I’m a little more than halfway through my 50/50 challenge. I haven’t posted anything in a while but with school and work both being full time I hardly have free time anymore. I hope to post an update soon once I can knock out some free time.
Challenge Update
I’ve become increasingly busy since the start of the challenge and feel like I am behind in updating my blog so for a while I will just be posting what I have read or seen. Reviews may be included depending on how much time I have.
Update
I’ll be updating my 50-50 challenger list soon. I’ve been mia for a while because I started a new job. But now that I’m in the habit of thing I think I might have some time to update this and knock and few more books and movies off my list!
Update Update!!!
I have knocked out 7 movies since the last update thanks to going to see the Marvel movie marathon. I unfortunately only read 2 books since my last update and am working on another one.
15. Treachery in Death by J.D. Robb
This book gets a 4 out of 5 stars. I love Nora Roberts writing as J.D. Robb. She is an amazing writer and she has made such amazing characters who take grasp of your heart and won’t let go. Every time I read these books I feel such a connection to the characters and I love it. I have read alm ost every single book of hers and I have been impressed with all of them. This book deals with dirty cops in the illegals department and explores Peabody as a detective even more. I loved this book. 4-25-12
16. Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday
This book gets a 2 out of 5 stars. I got it for free off the iBooks store. and It was okay but I would much rather pay for a better quality book. The character development was minimal and she barley told any back story which would have helped with the plot of the book. It was okay but I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone. 4-27-12
13. Beastly
This movie was good but I though the plot could of varied a little more from beauty and the beast then it did. It also bothered me how little they explored the relationship of the two main characters. I would watch it again though. It teachers kids a good lesson “beauty is on the inside, the outside doesn’t matter” I think this is a great lesson.4-19-12
14. Iron man
This movie is still one of my all time favorites. its an awesome movie even after seeing it a million times. if you haven’t seen it I insist that you do. Robert Downey Jr. does an amazing job as Tony Stark. I just wish I could have all of the technology Tony Stark has. I have to admit I am not a huge Gweneth Paltrow fan but she is amazing as Pepper Potts. 4-3-12
15. Incredible Hulk
Edward Norton did an amazing job as the Hulk/Bruce Banner. I have to say that the computer generated graphics were amazing as well. The transformation from Bruce Banner to Hulk was amazing as well. I would watch it again. 4-3-12
16. Iron Man 2
Again I love Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. I was sad to see that they replaced Terrance Howard as Rhody. The new guy Don Cheadle did okay but wasn’t what I wanted him to be. I also didn’t like Whiplash as a villain that much either. I’ll just say the movie was okay. 4-3-12
17. Thor
There are very few reasons why I liked this movie. Chris Hemsworth is one of the only reasons I liked this movie. He is hot and ripped and had my attention the whole movie. The only other reason I liked this movie was because it was based on Norse mythology. The computer generated graphics were horrible though and cheaply done. If I ever become a billionaire I will be sure to remake this movie with better graphics. Otherwise it was a good movie. 4-3-12
18. Captain America: The First Avenger
Chris Evans did a ridiculously amazing job as Captain America. Whoever did the casting for this movie should get paid more. The fact that this movie was set during the 40’s is just one reason why I love this movie. Hayley Atwell also did an amazing job as Peggy and I wished I could of seen more of her. This was an amazing movie. Last but not least let’s not forget Dominic Cooper who played Howard Stark I though he did an amazing job. 4-3-12
19. The Avengers
I LOVED this movie! I would have liked it either more if they hadn’t cast Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. No offense to Mark Ruffalo but Edward Norton played the role so much better. I also loved Scarlett Johnasson as black widow. I wish I could fight like her. I also loved Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye he is brilliant. This was an amazing movie with amazing graphics. I will own it on DVD! I cannot say enough about this movie. 4-4-12
50/50 challenge update
I will be posting an update very soon and I cannot wait to share my opinion of the avengers!
Look for it soon!

12. The Hunger Games by. Suzanne Collins
This book gets a 5 out of 5 stars. It was a captivating book and I couldn’t put it down. From the time my hand hit the book to the time I sat it down I wanted to pick it up and read it again. This isn’t a book that I would usually read because I like the sappy romantic books, but I found a new favorite genre with this book. Its adventure meets dystopic world meets a society of kill hungry leaders. If you haven’t read the book now would be a great time to stop reading this! If you have read the book you’re fine. I loved Katniss as the head character she was so strong and compelling and I love how she wasn’t afraid to volunteer at the reaping for her sister Prim. I also loved Rue as a character and cried when she was killed. In the book Peeta was also a strong character for me, he had such a loving and compassionate way about him that made me love him from the beginning. I cannot wait to read it again. 4-7-12
13. Twisted by Andrea Kane
This book gets a 4 out of 5 stars. I love Andrea Kane as a writer. She always writes compelling and captivating stories. This is the third book of hers that I have read and while it was slow to start (say the first 5 chapters or so) I flew threw the rest of the book. I think Sloane is a great character and I wish she would make another story about her life and her steamy hot boyfriend who is FBI. I would love to see the character develop and grow more. 4-15-12
14. Crash Test Love by Ted Michael
This book gets a 2 out of 5 stars. It was a typical teenage romance book. Sappy and short. It was also shallow and boring. I only finished in 2 days so that I could be done with it. First the author writes the book in such a way you are bouncing between characters and while it was cute at first once he started not putting the characters who’s perspective it was on the book it got confusing. It also didn’t develop the characters enough or the story line. It ended abruptly and was overall very disappointing. My suggestion don’t read this book. 4-17-12
11. Hunger Games
Wow if there was every a disappointing movie this was it. I saw it at the midnight release and then again the next day (mainly because I had already bought the ticket but also in hopes that me being tired made the movie bad) and boy was I wrong. The characters they picked I thought were prefect for the parts except for Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. I think the guy who played Cato would of made a much better Peeta. Though I guess Josh’s cute and boyish look really helped play off the “I’m in love with Katniss” look. The film had so many changed that I cannot even put them all on here. But some major ones I want to note that made me not like the movie are: 1) the killings weren’t gruesome or even shown for the most part 2) the mention of the cafeteria scene and bread from district 11 were taken out 3) the vial of medicine from haymitch to knock peeta out was omitted from the movie 4) where was the avox girl who ran through the woods and caught Katniss and Gales eye? Those are just a few complaints now to why I praise certain characters who were cast correctly. Jennifer Lawrence did an absolutely amazing job as Katniss. She pulled off the strong female lead perfectly. Stanely Tucci as Caesar Flickerman the host for the televised interviews with the tributes. Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane firstly his facial hair was ridiculous though I am apparently the only one who liked it. He played off the Head gameskeeper perfectly. Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket was an outstanding performance. Lenny Kravitz as Cinna made me want Cinna as my stylist if I were ever in the Hunger Games. and lastly my favorite actress Amandla Stenberg she was absolutely amazing as Rue. She was adorable, loveable, and I fell in love with her from the second I saw her on the poster as Rue. She was adorable on film and I cried just a little when she died because I wanted so badly for her to live because she brought life to the screen. 3-23-12
12. P.S. I Love You
I cried my eyes out the first time I saw this and each time after. Any movie that kills a character off makes me cry. Especially when the person is Gerard Butler. He is eye candy! The plot line is great and well executed though after watching it for the millionth time (which this was… i know i know but i couldn’t help myself) i found a few things that I didn’t like about the movie. But i’ll just call that over analyzing a movie. I suggest you watch it. It is worth the time and is a great way to get to hear Gerard Butler sing! 3-31-12
